Park Shin Hye Biography
Park Shin-Hye was born on February 18th, 1990, in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, to parents who were both teachers. Her family consists of her mother and father, as well as one older brother. When Park Shin-Hye was in 6th grade at Hak-Kang Elementary School in Gwangju,
she was encouraged to audition for pop singer Lee Seung-music Hwan’s company “Dream Factory” by her English teacher at a private institute. Park Shin-Hye went on to audition for Lee Seung-music Hwan’s company “Dream Factory” and was offered a spot.
As a result, Park Shin-Hye traveled to Seoul to audition for the Dream Factory production. In the course of her association with Dream Factory, Park Shin-Hye began training as an actress, singer, and musician (guitar, keyboard, and keyboard). Her family, like many others, moved to Seoul in 2001. Park Shin-Hye made her acting debut in the music video “Ggot” (Flower) by singer Lee Seung-Hwan in 2003,
where she played the lead female character. In the same year, she was also offered a role in the SBS drama series “Stairway to Heaven,” which she accepted after an unsuccessful audition. Park Shin-Hye was chosen from a pool of 250 contestants.
As a child, Park Shin-Hye was cast in the role of the main character Han Jung-Seo (Choi Ji-Woo played the adult Han Jung-Seo). “Stairway to Heaven” was a huge hit with audiences, receiving ratings in excess of 40% on a regular basis.
The door to Park Shin-career Hye’s in the entertainment sector had finally been opened. Even though “Stairway to Heaven” helped to raise Park Shin-profile Hye’s among the Korean public, the roles she landed after “Stairway to Heaven” were originally less popular with the public.
As for her personal life during this period, Park Shin-Hye was pretty much a typical college student. She spent a lot of time texting with her friends and had earned the moniker “Park Pig” due to her love of food. Not until Park Shin-Hye was cast as the female lead in the hit SBS drama series “You’re Beautiful” in 2009 did Park Shin-Hye find herself in yet another successful production.
According to Hong Sung-Chang, the director of “You’re Beautiful,” Park Shin-Hye and her male counterpart Jang Geun-Suk were cast in the starring roles because of their bright characters and the fact that they were both excellent dancers and singers, among other reasons.
Although the show’s TV ratings were barely in the low teens (since it aired opposite the mega-hit “IRIS” on KBS2), it was a huge hit on the internet and among teenagers and young adults. In 2009, the series was the most searched-for title from SBS on Korean portals, and the four main actors were consistently among the top ten most searched-for names in the country.
“You’re Beautiful” actress Park Shin-Hye has remarked in interviews that her role in the film closely resembled her real-life demeanor to an extent of approximately 80%. In 2010, Park Shin-Hye appeared in the romantic comedy “Cyrano Agency” as a supporting actor in a supporting role.
Park Shin-Hye remarked in interviews she gave to promote “Cyrano Agency” that she did not feel the need to secure a major role because of her young age and lack of experience in feature films. Park Shin-Hye has also revealed that two of her peers are actors Park Hie-Sun and Ko Du-Shim, both of whom she admires.
