In preparation for the Women's World Cup in 2023, the USWNT has hit a mini-slide.

As a result of tonight's 2-1 loss to Germany, the USWNT made history you don't want to make.

For the first time since 1993, the American women have lost three straight matches.

The USWNT swept Nigeria in early September after winning the CONCACAF Women's Championship in July.

Their record has been 0-fersince then, losing to England on Oct. 7, Spain on Oct. 11 and tonight, 2-1.

It's good news for the Americans that these games don't count. As the team continues to develop its younger generation of potential players,

There are also a number of mainstay veterans who are out due to injury.

There will be no Women's World Cup until July 2023. Before then, things can be sorted out.

Meanwhile, the USWNT is preparing for a rematch against Germany on Sunday.
